How do I turn text into Morse code and hear it?
Type into the Morse code translator. Text turns into Morse, and dots and dashes turn into text. Press Play to hear it, or Save as sound file.
Step by step
- Open the Morse code translator.
- Type text, or type Morse with dots, dashes, a space between letters and a slash (/) between words. It works out which way to go.
- Press Play to hear it. Open the sound and light settings to change the speed, pitch and volume.
- Press Copy result, Save as sound file or Share link.

Questions and fixes
I can’t hear any sound
Check the tool’s sound button is on, your device isn’t muted and the volume is up. Browsers only play sound after you have clicked or tapped on the page at least once. On an iPhone, the silent switch can mute web pages.
Is my message sent anywhere when I share it?
No. The message travels only inside the link, after the # sign, so it is never sent to us.
