How do I make and print a word search?
Type your words in the word search maker, choose a size and difficulty, press Make the puzzle, then Print or save as PDF. Tick the answer key box for a second page with the answers.
Step by step
- Open the word search maker.
- Give it a title and type your words, one per line or with commas. No ideas? Pick a theme from Ideas.
- Choose a grid size and difficulty: Easy hides words across and down, Medium adds diagonals, Hard adds backwards words.
- Press Make the puzzle. Press it again for a new layout.
- Choose A4 or US Letter paper and press Print or save as PDF.

It says a word does not fit
Make the grid bigger, or use a shorter word.
How do I save it as a PDF instead of printing?
In the print window, change the printer (often called “Destination”) to Save as PDF or Microsoft Print to PDF, then press Save. On an iPhone or iPad, use Print, then pinch out on the preview and share it as a PDF.
