How do I find words that match a pattern like ?A??E?
In the word finder, type the letters you know in their places and a question mark for each gap. Add letters that must or must not be in the word.
Step by step
- Open the word finder.
- Type the pattern, such as ?a??e for a five-letter word with A second and E last. An underscore or full stop works too.
- Use Must include for letters that are in the word somewhere, and Must not include for letters you have ruled out.
- Add Letters you have if the gaps must come from your tiles.

I get words of the wrong length
The pattern sets the length. Count your question marks: ?a??e only finds five-letter words.
