How to remember 4
- It sounds like di-di-di-di-dah. Say it out loud as you listen, and learn the rhythm rather than counting dots and dashes.
- 4 has 5 signals: 4 dots and 1 dash. It takes 11 units of time to send, where a dot is one unit.
- All numbers in Morse code have five signals. 1 to 5 begin with dots and end with dashes: 4 is 4 dots followed by 1 dash.
- Once you know the pattern, you can work out every number without memorising a table.
