6-....
How to remember 6
- It sounds like dah-di-di-di-dit. Say it out loud as you listen, and learn the rhythm rather than counting dots and dashes.
- 6 has 5 signals: 4 dots and 1 dash. It takes 11 units of time to send, where a dot is one unit.
- All numbers in Morse code have five signals. 6 to 9 and 0 begin with dashes and end with dots: 6 is 1 dash followed by 4 dots.
- Once you know the pattern, you can work out every number without memorising a table.
