T-
Remembering T
- It sounds like dah. Say it out loud as you listen, and learn the rhythm rather than counting dots and dashes.
- T has one signal: 1 dash. It takes 3 units of time to send, where a dot is one unit.
- T is roughly the 2nd most common letter in English. Morse code gives the shortest codes to the commonest letters, which is why T is quick to send.
- Swap every dot for a dash and every dash for a dot and you get E (.). Learning opposite pairs together helps them stick.
- Add more signals to the end of T and you get B, C, D, G, K, M, N, O, Q, X, Y and Z, so it helps to learn these letters after T.
